Chard Visits the Library

This week we had a very special guest in the library!
Mrs Mowat brought her dog Chard to school and we had turns reading to him in the library.
As you can see Chard seems very happy to be with us.
Come back soon Chard, we loved having you! woof, woof.

NZ Book Month Purchases

Following on from my last post, Caleb and Sua from Room 22 used their NZ Book Month Vouchers and purchased some new books for themselves. Enjoy!
Anyone else got some new books with their voucher? Only a few more days left of book month!

March is NZ Book Month

This is the month when we celebrate the joy of reading and all it's benefits.
Research in NZ and overseas consistently points to the importance of having books in the home, along with encouragement and support to read for pleasure, as greatly improving a child's chance of future success.
Each child at Pinehill School will receive a $5.00 off voucher to use at participating retailers in the month of March.
I would love to hear what books you chose to buy!

Thoughtful Words From Liam

 'I Love Library Words'

The Library is an elegant place. In the Library the non-fiction smells like serious business and the fiction smells like being free. When you open a fantastic book, you enter another world.

Last Wednesday Mrs Moore and I had a great day choosing new books for our library.
What did we get? Well that is a surprise for when you come on your next visit! But we not only bought books! We also now have five more native birds in the library and a Hairy Maclary!
